HELLO!

So, you want an experience you will never forget, a family photo session with Dawndra? Well, I’m here to tell you how it all works and what to expect from this Seattle Family Photographer.

First rule, don’t stress! This is fun, I know it’s a lot of work! Just like being a parent, this comes with a huge reward, images to enjoy and feel for life.

STEP 1.

First off we pick a date and secure it with a small $200.00 deposit. The remaining amount is due the day of our shoot.. Sessions are all inclusive and you will get all of the high resolution edited files that I choose from the session.

Here are a few common questions/concerns.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

It’s okay! this happens. Just remember that 20% chance of rain means 80% chance of no rain! My clients and I text the day before or even day of if the weather is looking bad to reschedule. I know this is a pain, but hey, it is the Pacific Northwest!

WHAT IF MY KIDDO ISN’T HAPPY?

We do our very best. For example, the little three year old in the shoot below was a little cranky for the second half of the session, and her mother was concerned at the end about the photos. Cranky is cute! And we will do our best with no stress.

It hasn’t happened yet, but I would be happy to offer up a small session to make up for lost time in the worst case scenario, in my neighborhood, on the house. NO STRESS! I GOT YOU!

Step 2.

We choose a location- check this out for ideas- and talk about what to wear. I do offer advice on what to wear. You may have all you need in your closet! If we’re shooting in nature, we try to stick to earthy tones. Go easy on the patterns, maybe keep it to one person with a pattern in the family. For example, If dad is wearing a flannel and holding a little one with another pattern, the image doesn’t quite flow and showcase your family. If dad is wearing a flannel and mom is wearing flowers, same thing. Make sense? I BLOGGED ABOUT IT HERE We can text or email what you have and ideas, and I can happily send recommendations. Also feel free to bring a second option for the kids to wear if it’s easy. Sometimes this just means a cute diaper cover for some almost naked- wild and free free in nature shots.

Step 3.

We show up!

Let’s create some Images that you can feel. Trust me, this is my thing!

Sessions are 60-90 minutes depending on the little ones. An hour is A LOT of photos, trust me. I pretty much boss and pose you the entire time that we shoot, with the exception of letting the kids do their thing for some candid moments.

Although I do take a handful of photos with everyone looking and smiling at the camera, I tend to try to get a connection between all of you. So you will hear things like “give her a smooch” “sniff your daddies nose” and silly things like that. Know that I am a total dork!

What to bring.

Don’t forget to bring snacks, drinks, bribes, and maybe a blanket if you have one that you like. For summertime sessions, we can also just sit in the grass. If we are shooting a baby who can’t sit up, make sure the blanket is solid so we can lay the babe down and get nice shots concentrating on the baby’s face. Bring yourself a cocktail, I don’t judge!

Step 4.

Allow me a few weeks to hand edit each and every image for you. You will see “sneak peaks” right away and a gallery with 60-100 images. From your gallery, you can save the photos, and also I offer beautiful professional prints and books right from your gallery.

Step 5.

Print your photos! Hang on wall and enjoy the piece of art that you are forever. This is a gift for your family for generations to come.

So sit back, relax, have fun, and let me show you the beauty I see in your family. Every family is a piece of art to me. All different, ever changing, created by you, and totally unique.

I can’t wait to create a unique family photo experience with you!
