Family Photo Session with Birds of Prey - Seattle Creative Family Photographer

So I have shot with Seattle’s favorite falconer John from THE FALCONER many, many times. As an animal lover, I need to be assured that the animals are taken care of and John puts his whole life into these birds. They live on a beautiful property in Covington Washington. John is easy to work with and super likable. He is full of information and stays close and even teaches you about the birds the entire shoot.

This beautiful family planned this session around their 11 year daughters birthday -and her love for Harry Potter. We didn’t go crazy with styling the whole family in the Harry Potter theme, but it was important to this little one. The owl did get a little heavy for this little girl so she took a lot of breaks.

It was a chilly day in early spring, and they brought their family dog and let him sleep in the car while we shot with the birds. We planned on getting a few “normal” family photos at the end, so there were a few clothing changes during this shoot. Also mom is a Soprano | Pianist | Songwriter | Composer | and Educator and we added some updated headshots and some creative shots of just her. She brought her own wig and I own the blue dress. I rented the purple dress from Boho Fluxx. It shipped easily and the owner is so sweet.

To add The Falconer to your photo shoot - we just have to all sinc the time and the additional cost paid to Jon is $500. And so totally worth it.

I hopped in for a few quick shots while the family changed and took a break. There is NOTHING like being close to these birds. I would say it feels almost like a spiritual experience. THANKS JOHN!
