The Declaration of Self Love- Seattle Boudoir Photographer
Boudoir. The declaration of self love. Surrendering to the fear, and flow with your sensuality. You are beautiful.
Way back in the day when I was getting into photography, I was very excited about shooting Boudoir. I quickly got swept away with learning family and wedding photography, and pushed it under the rug. To start doing it again feels so natural to me since I work with so many women shooting empowering or branding sessions. A lot of women would ask if I did boudoir, and I would say that I do it outside. Some said yes. I love being outside. I remember one shoot specifically when a really awesome woman did a flirty fun shoot up in the mountains, scantily clad, and made a book to give to her husband on their wedding day. I was there for him opening that book- and it planted the seed. Much of the time I could not post or share any of these sessions, and I also felt that I needed to stay within my niche so as not to confuse people about what I do. So I decided to just be a little confusing, and little goofy, and have a lot of fun. And that’s what these sessions are all about. Empowering women has become a huge part of my job, and my WHY.
Because we live in a society that constantly tells us to feel bad about ourselves, I am here to help you see otherwise. Whether it's for you body or for your sexuality, the shame is something that I am just fucking done with. Having battled it for years myself, it’s time we all say, F that noise!
There are many reasons to get a boudior or empowerment session. For you to remember where you were at during this time. A gift for your 75 year old self. To boost your self confidence, to OWN it, I want to show you what a bad ass you are. Celebrate who you are and where you are in this quick life we get to experience. To mark a journey you’ve been through- or a milestone. A gift for your lover. A gift for yourself.
Even though Gabrielle here is a stunning beauty, she comes with her own insecurities (as we all do), and doesn’t get a boudoir shoot every day. She’s been though a lot last year, both challenging and wonderful, and she he is a changed woman from it. And we celebrated that on this day. She is a mother of three. After being a stay at home bad ass mom for many years, she just went to school and got a new job. (woot woot) She picked up motorcycle riding in the past years and became an ambassador for the bike she rides. She’s been divorced, and she’s fallen in love. She has pushed herself to the limits and from my view, she is an absolute fucking inspiration. And a total genuine sweetheart. Thank you Gabrielle for sharing your heart with me, for being brave and vulnerable with me, and for inspiring all the ladies who are blessed to know you.
