Romantic Rainy Mt. Baker Elopement - Seattle Elopement Photographer
I’m not going to lie, I was sweating bullets on the way up to this beautiful family. The whole three and a half hour drive was rainy. We saw a break in the rain, but up in these mountains, you don’t always get to know. I was deep breathing and saying “please universe, light rain or none at all”
It’s just that absolute downpour can make things cold and difficult, but not impossible. This was September, but any month in the PNW can bring us this surprise. Honestly rainy shoots can be very beautiful and fun, but throwing the little ones into the mix it can be tricky:) This was an important day for this beautiful family, and I wanted to do them right.
When I got to the top at Artists Point, the whole area was completely socked in with fog. You couldn’t see 10 feet in front of you. I was an hour early, and I walked around in awe and panic. I mean it was beautiful, but there was no backdrop at all. When the family arrived, we decided to drive down the road some below the fog and find a spot. I am so grateful it worked out.
And, exhale……..
