Sedona Maternity Magic - Sedona Arizona Family and Maternity Photographer
This lovely couple was so much fun to shoot with. This baby has lucked out being gifted these two as their parents. After years of photographing people, and before that years of working in hospitality, I get a good sense of people. And these guys are truly wonderful.
Barefoot and pregnant on the magical Red Rocks in Sedona- what a beautiful way to spend your baby moon for your first born, soaking up the energy of Sedona and gifting that beautiful energy to your little one. I cannot love this more.
I helped this mamma to be pick out her dress and kimono, and Abby Elyse Make Up made her extra beautiful, if that is possible!
Why get a maternity shoot? A photoshoot is amazing -creating a visual legacy for your family now and in the future. These photographs serve as a tangible reminder of the love, excitement, and anticipation you felt during pregnancy, and become treasured keepsakes that can be passed down to future generations. This is my “WHY” I love knowing this little baby will grow up knowing how his parents were so excited for this new life that they went out of their way to have a photoshoot.
I gratefully received this message from this sweet woman after the session. “I feel honored . You really are a magical person Dawndra, and we appreciate you so much. We had a great time in Sedona, but getting to meet you and the stunning pictures/experience was well worth it on its own. We would LOVE to do it again someday!” Thank you darling. I felt high for days after meeting you.
“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” – Maya Angelou
Motherhood is a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
MOTHERHOOD
I am not taking the light away from the power of fatherhood, but in light of the season of Mother’s Day -and it being 10 years since I lost my own mother, this is top of mind for me. Not having children of my own, I get to witness hundreds of motherhood stories and they continue to fascinate me. I love telling these stories. Here are some things I read about the spirituality of motherhood. I am fascinated by this journey.
Transformation and Growth: The journey of motherhood is one of continuous transformation and growth, both for the mother and her child. Through the joys and challenges of raising children, mothers undergo profound spiritual growth, learning valuable lessons about patience, resilience, and the interconnectedness of all life.
-Intuition and Wisdom: Mothers often speak of a deep intuitive knowing or wisdom that guides them in their roles as nurturers and caregivers. This maternal intuition is a spiritual gift that enables mothers to understand and respond to their children's needs on a profound level, fostering a sense of trust and connection.
-Surrender and Trust: Motherhood requires a willingness to surrender control and trust in the unfolding of life's journey. Mothers learn to let go of expectations and embrace the unpredictability of parenthood, placing their faith in a higher power or universal wisdom that guides and sustains them through the challenges and uncertainties of raising children.
-Gratitude and Reverence: Motherhood often evokes feelings of deep gratitude and reverence for the miracle of life and the gift of nurturing and raising children. Mothers recognize the sacredness of their role as creators and caretakers of new life, instilling a sense of reverence for the divine within themselves and their families.
-Legacy and Spiritual Heritage: Mothers play a crucial role in passing down spiritual teachings, values, and traditions to their children, shaping their spiritual heritage and legacy for future generations. Through their words, actions, and examples, mothers impart valuable lessons about love, kindness, compassion, and the importance of living in harmony with oneself and the world.
-Connection to the Divine Feminine: Motherhood is often associated with the archetype of the Divine Feminine, representing qualities of nurturing, compassion, creativity, and unconditional love. By embodying these divine qualities in their roles as mothers, women deepen their connection to the sacred feminine and honor the divine within themselves and all of creation.
I work Seattle Washington and Sedona Arizona -and the surrounding areas- for these beautiful motherhood sessions. If you are in Sedona and want your make up done, I highly recommend ABBY ELYSE MAKE UP - she did the make up for this session and this mamma to be loved it!
