Mt. Rainier Maternity Shoot - Seattle Family Photographer
I love Mt. Tahoma. Whether I am up there on my motorcycle or for a photoshoot, I am always in awe. Tipsoo Lake is an easy location to get to and a nice 30 minute walk around the lake has some beautiful scenery. The rest of Rainier has fees and requires reservations, but Tipsoo you just park and play. This beautiful growing family flew in for this shoot, and this mamma wanted something a little more mystical. A mother of light. I am here for that all day. She rented one dress and bought another and ordered a crown from Etsy. This little boy was a trooper while we shot for just over two hours! He amazed me. They get him outside a lot:) We shot this in September in early Fall which is a lovely time of year for a Mt. Rainier photoshoot.
Indigenous tribes, including the Puyallup, Nisqually, and Yakama, have lived in the region for thousands of years. They call the mountain “Tahoma” or “Tacoma,” meaning “the source of nourishment from the waters.”
The mountain holds spiritual significance and has been a source of sustenance and connection for these tribes, with its rivers and forests providing resources and its peaks serving as sacred ground.
