Artists Point - Seattle Adventure Family and Maternity Photographer

This is hands down my favorite location to shoot in Washington State for a family or maternity photo shoot. This place is strait up jaw dropping out of a painting views every which way you look. As a photographer I am overwhelmed- because I don’t even know where to start! This particular spot also requres no hike, just minutes from the parking lot. It is DEEP though, 3.5 hours outside of Seattle. The sessions I have done here, the families made a weekend out of it, getting a cabin and making it a full on adventure. I loved shooting here in September and early October for the fall colors. Summer would also be absolutely beautiful too! Keep in mind sunset is ideal and it’s a little later in the summer if you have little ones.

We ended this shoot around 8pm, lingering a little past dark playing around. This day was a cloudy one, but still beautiful and warm.

The tricky part about shooting up here is that this mountain range makes it’s own weather, so the weather can be a bit of a gamble. For that reason I love the summer idea, if the kids are cool to stay up past nine and still be happy. So yes, a full on adventure.

At the end of the session, we had a little “witchy” fun for a few minutes.

I actually stayed the night with this sweet family (don’t worry I will not ask:) and in the morning, this beautiful mamma and I drove up to Picture Lake for a few solo shots. It was drizzly and moody, but you can usually see a mountain in the reflection of the lake.
