Sunrise at Rattlesnake Lake-North Bend Family Photographer
Sunrise at Rattlesnake Lake. Sigh.
We did this shoot in October, when you don’t have to get up at 5am for sunrise. I got to the lake early and took in the last moments of twilight. North Bend, especially Rattlesnake Lake, often gets a little foggy, moody, and misty. A vibe which I absolutely love.
Just as the sun popped out, little Sunny and her family arrived. I’ve worked with and known this family for years, so it was okay for me to bring my pug Ezme to the shoot. She just stays next to me, and Sunny absolutely loved Ezme.
Sunny loved the way the steam was coming off of this beautiful stump. I am always in awe at the wonderment of children, especially this one.
The trees and stumps at Rattlesnake Lake make for endless photo ideas. This place looks a little different every time I shoot there. The water rises and the stumps go away. The water is drained revealing Tim Burton like stumps all around the lake. The big mountain in the background, the fresh mountain air. I love shooting here. It can get muddy though. This day was dry!
A lot of people get wrapped up in telling their kids to look at the camera and smile, but that is not my approach to family sessions. I like focusing on the connection between you.
Always get the shot of mom who is often the one behind the camera.
I brought this dress along from my collection(bought from Joyfolie), and it fit perfectly with the belt that Tabitha had.
Tabitha knows me and my love for water well, so she brought her tall water boots. This connection to nature is an important aspect of my work.
THESE COLORS LIGHT ME UP!
That- and little Sunny B’s pose. Oh my heart.
I love the quiet images. Some parents refrain from sugar until after the shoot, just to allow more space for these.
As you can see these guys brought a few outfit changes in a big easy to carry bag. The lighter colors and colors that pop/and match nature really worked well.
Watch the shortened version of their family film below. Thank you for being here!
