Love At Rockaway Beach- Oregon Coast Elopement Photographer

I say this a lot -but this might have been my most favorite elopement/wedding ever. I have been to the Oregon Coast many times, but somehow I had never stayed in this little cozy beach town of Rockaway Beach. It’s like Cannon Beach but way less crowded. This couple had me over for a two hour elopement party. I am so honored and grateful that they trusted me -without even knowing me but word of mouth- to be one of the very few people to join them on this special day. I even got to sign as a witness.

Besides this couple, one of the most magical things about this union was that it was suppose to RAIN. I was a little nervous because I know that ocean wind can be cold and hard to shoot in, but add rain…. I just knew whatever happened we would make the best of it.

That morning the weather report changed it’s mind for us.

We started at the Air B&B and walked across the street to the beach where their two guests got a bonfire going while we took some photos.

We made our way back, they had a quick and beautiful ceremony, and then there were toasts by the fire as the sunset.

Amy and Matt. Married on their seven year anniversary of being together in a place very special to them. They chose a magical date as well, 3-21-23 and they got married on a full moon. I am here for it! Thanks Amy and Matt for choosing me - and Congrats forever. I know true love when I see it.

Eloping can be a wonderful way to get married in a private and intimate setting. Here are some tips on how to elope:

Decide on the location: Choose a location that has special meaning to you or that you have always wanted to visit. You could choose a beautiful natural setting, a city that you both love, or a place that holds sentimental value.

  1. Choose your witnesses: Decide who you want to have present at your elopement. This could be just the two of you or a small group of close family and friends.

  2. Consider hiring a photographer: Although elopements are typically more casual and intimate, you may still want to capture the moment with professional photos. Look for a photographer who specializes in elopements and or whose style you love. Make sure they fit the vibe, with such a small crew the energy can be shifted.

  3. Research local laws and requirements: Depending on where you plan to elope, there may be certain legal requirements that you need to fulfill. Check the local laws to make sure that you have all the necessary permits and paperwork.

  4. Plan the details: Even though you're eloping, you may still want to plan some of the details, such as what to wear, flowers, and any special touches that will make the day memorable.

I love that eloping is all about doing what feels right for you as a couple. It's a chance to celebrate your love in a way that is unique and special to you two! With much less stress, focusing on the love between you, while enjoying nature.
