The Importance of a Maternity Session + Tips and Tricks- Seattle Maternity Photographer
Maternity photos can be incredibly important for SOO many reasons.
Capturing this time while the one you love the most still lives inside of your body. Wow, that is a powerful sentence. Our bodies are magic.
I loved this session so much. Nicole and Nathan drove up from Portland for this. I was lucky enough to shoot their wedding years ago, and I feel incredibly lucky that they still love me.
Sometimes I like to get a little bit weird, and having met Nicole in the past- I knew she wouldn’t mind.
She felt silly at the time, but ended up loving the photo.
Nathan didn’t want to be in many photos, but he made some appearances. Do it for the baby, I said.
These colors really worked in the forest. And I love a hat!
There are other colors that “pop” more in the forest than black, but if it’s your color (like it is mine) Go for it! It can totally work, but I do love a second outfit that stands out from the background if at all possible.
Bring a few outfit changes and hide in the forest to change it up.
I love a fitted or flowy dress. If you want to show your belly- grab a cute bralette and a skirt - or a kimono. Or just go naked for one?

Colors that pop in the forest and match nature are rust, blue, ivory or white, light brown or beige. Shawls or a wrap can add some texture. Hats are fun and cute.
We changed in the forest, you can bring a sheet or towel and I can hold it for you. If we shoot by the water and you want to go in for drama, bring some flip flops and a towel.
