I love reliving these moments. This stunning beautiful woman traveled from Washington State to Sedona Arizona to see the beautiful landscape and do a few photo sessions with me. I know that having beautiful images of yourself can be healing, but photographing healers can be equally as healing for me. Angela is an intuitive guide, healer, and certified sound therapist. Angela’s approach is rooted in loving compassion to help you release physical, spiritual, or energetic blocks from your life. So you can live a more authentic expression of who you are and find joy in just being yourself.

I actually met her at one of her sound bath sessions at a retreat on a farm in Washington. She is a true musician and healer, I have not experienced anything quite like those sounds. At one point I looked up at Angela and a sparrow was hovering over her shoulder, it seemed to be enjoying the sounds as well.

SEDONA. We started one morning at West Fork Trail, but the goal was just to get a few water shots and not a full shoot there. We walked along the beautiful trail and Angela brought a backpack with a few light dresses, flip flops and a towel. It was springtime and the water was chilly! No better way to get grounded in Sedona and wake up your cellular system, and boost your immunity. We shot these images over a 4 day period.

I love water’s multifaceted healing properties, encompassing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual realms, contribute to its esteemed status as a source of healing and well-being. Cold water is linked to improvements in blood pressure, mood, and depression. A variety of reasons could be involved, including reduction of inflammation and stimulation of the vagus nerve, which can make the heart rate and body calm down – and provide the spaces to be in the moment as opposed to being a thousand miles an hour. I am a huge fan of grounding in water.

I love shooting here. I love that you can shoot in the trees along the short walk to the view of Cathedral, and then go barefoot standing on the red rocks. It’s a 10 minute walk, and the best location if you have a lot to carry. We brought Angela’s bowls to this one.

I love adding earth elements during my photo sessions. Especially when my muse is an earth witch:)

Bell Rock is believed to be an energy vortex, a place where the earth's energy is particularly strong and can have a positive impact on those who visit. Vortexes in Sedona are categorized into upflow (positive, uplifting energy) and inflow (grounding, introspective energy). Bell Rock is often considered an upflow site, promoting spiritual elevation and heightened awareness.

SUGAR LOAF TRAIL

This trail was one of my morning walk rituals. The spot where I love to shoot is a 25 minute slightly uphill walk. And you arrive to stunning 360 views. We were lucky enough to shoot here during the Pink Full Moon. We heard a pack of coyotes howling away as we walked out in the full moon light. Angela sang a beautiful song as we walked back to the car, I will never ever forget this night!

ROOTS

One of Angela’s themes for our session was connection to her roots. She also used the word CLARITY.

Reconciliation with the Past: Understanding and accepting the history of your ancestors, including any painful or difficult aspects, can lead to reconciliation and peace. It allows you to integrate all parts of your history into your identity, leading to a more cohesive sense of self.

Empowerment Through Knowledge: Knowing your family’s history and stories can be empowering. It can help you understand the strengths and resilience that have been passed down to you and fully understand and embody them. I used the sticks as a metaphor for her roots.

Clarity, do we ever stop seeking? I know I won’t.

Having a clear sense of purpose can guide your actions and decisions, ensuring that they align with your core values and long-term objectives.
