First Family Photo Shoot, think your kids won’t last? -Snohomish Family Photographer
One of the most common things parents say to me when booking a session is that they fear their kiddo or kids won’t last the full session. They are too wild or cranky, active, busy, all the things, for family photos. I disagree my friends! I love photographing kids that are shy or wild and fiery. I love to chase and play, and I can also “read the room” and ease in if it takes a little while to warm up. This is what I do.
This family is hands down THE LOVLIEST! With two little ones and a few reschedulings, we nailed it. Charlie was running around being wild and hilarious, and the little sweet angle baby was curious, mellow, and hungry. We went with the flow. This was their first family photo shoot ever, and I asked Tiffany to put into her own words what she thought of the experience. Take it away mamma, the rest of this blog is from the mouth of this beautiful woman. I cannot thank you enough for choosing me!
“Our first family photoshoot almost didn’t happen! We had a series of illnesses and had to reschedule not once, but twice. Throughout all the rescheduling and shifting of plans, Dawndra was really flexible, kind and gracious. On the day of our pictures, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop since everything seemed to be a little too perfect…the weather was lovely, our "non-napping" toddler actually napped and *gasp* everyone was healthy (well, mostly). Normally, I get really nervous for this kind of thing since there are so many unpredictable factors but I felt really at ease with Dawndra. She is truly a lovely human. My sister recommended her after a mini-session with her spirited kids and I was blown away by how beautiful their photos were - she has such a gift for capturing love and energy. She also provided the perfect balance of organic, candid picture taking and gentle guidance. We felt really comfortable just being ourselves.”
“I’ll keep it real…of course, there were constant snacks being given to our toddler, who was actually being pretty cooperative (I’m sure the ice cream bribe had nothing to do with it), to keep her attention. And our infant was pretty fussy having skipped a nap and was working through the tail end of a cold but we made it -and we all had fun!!”
“Dawndra is magic. I am absolutely IN LOVE with the images that resulted from our time with her and upon receiving them, after thanking her profusely of course, I asked her when we can book next years session!
Worth the time and investment ten times over.”
“I had asked Dawndra in advance about the opportunity to take photos of me nursing Penelope seeing as how she might be our last baby. I consider myself incredibly blessed for my health but am realistic about the likelihood of breast cancer, given my family history. I really wanted to have a beautiful, feminine image of me feeding my baby in case my picture of health, and body, change in the future. I got that and so much more than I could have imagined.”
