SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS COUPLE’S SHOOT - Phoenix, Arizona Photographer
Ahhhhh. The Superstition Mountains. Did you know that while hiking here you may hear a slight rumble? “While hiking in the Superstitions, one can sometimes hear rumblings similar to rolling thunder. Geologists say this results from seismic activity resonated by the canyon walls. This could explain the origin of the Apache legend that these mountains are the home of the thunder gods.”
I went down the rabbit-hole of reading all about the legends of this place. I do not know if there is hidden gold, or why people seem to disappear out there, but what I do know is that this place has magic. It is medicine for your soul.
What a perfect place to capture the essence of love between two humans, especially these two. Steve and Wendy have been married for years already, but wanted some nice updated photos in their new(ish) home of Arizona. They get to see these mountains from their backyard.
You do not have to be newly engaged or having a wedding to get some beautiful photos done, or to celebrate how far you’ve come together.
I landed in Phoenix and headed out to Apache Junction and met up with these two. This spot was a 3 minute walk from the parking lot. I brought Wendy two dresses to borrow, and she bravely changed out in the wild. There are some very aggressive cactus that will bite you and your dress, so maybe wear closed toed shoes or boots -and hold your dress up while you walk. or you will pick up a lot of spikey friends:)
We had so much fun with this short, sweet, and effortless session. The sunset was gorgeous and these two are just amazing.
Thank you Wendy and Steve!
Check out the little movie we made below, and thank you for being here!
