Why you should have a photo shoot even if you’re already married- Seattle Love Photographer
Hey friends! I’m here today to share with you one of my favorite couple’s sessions of all time. And guess what? They had already been married 15 years at the time of this shoot. You do not have to be engaged or getting married to book a couple’s session, you just have to do it! Document and celebrate that love, you deserve it.
Joslin remembers back to this session and said to me “I love these photos, they remind me of an easier time.” At the time of this session, they just had their son (who came along for the shoot and was busy happily playing in the water) and now they adopted a beautiful teenage daughter and host a foreign exchange student from Germany. Joslin has also since started her own business with her sister Darci and it is AMAZING. Resting Waters provides eco- friendly pet after care and disposition. It’s so sad to loose an animal, but they are there for you.
I asked Joslin to tell me the story about her and Kit, and she kindly wrote me the following email…
“We met in February of 2003- and after a whirlwind romance we eloped just six months later. We were young and just coming out of difficult relationships, so finding each other felt like catching our breath for the first time in years. We were electric together, and maybe a little naive about what was to come in our lives. We began building a life as young adults who both didn't have the best examples of what a good relationship looked like or how to do the work to be the best partners we could be.
But we were madly in love and that passion felt like enough to have our marriage stand the test of time.
And now we are constantly learning new ways to find joy and fulfillment, always in personal and partnership growth. After 19 years together our biggest lesson has been that nothing really stays the same and to take those changes as they come with grace and understanding for one another. Life moves like a river, always in motion. In these years together we have made big life decisions. We bought our first home, had our son, moved into our second home, built businesses, brought on our chosen daughter and have had two exchange students live with us over the years. We are now experiencing middle age together and all that comes with it! Preparing ourselves to become empty nesters. Planning for our next season of life and how to enjoy it to the fullest. No two chapters have been the same, all have come with beauty and pain.”
Thank you Joslin for sharing your story. I just feel this.
