A Lovely Seattle Wedding Day at The Grotto- Seattle Wedding Photographer

This wedding day was absolutely perfect. The weather, the people, the decorations, the simplicity of the wedding, and the love in the air.

Sarah and Shane got married surrounded by their favorite family and friends at The Grotto, a small area of St. Edwards State Park here in Seattle. This structure is made entirely of river rock, and it is SO STUNNING. To my eyes it had a little bit of witchy vibe, which is my vibe.

Sarah & Shane met during covid.  Faced with the fact that the world was literally shut down, the two turned to online dating for the first time ever.  After they matched, it took Shane MONTHS to get up the courage to meet Sarah in person.  In the meantime, they texted and talked and learned they lived across the street from each other in college but never met, that Sarah was vegan and Shane’s family owned a cattle ranch, and that they both loved blackberries, among other things.
Shane, being nervous, naturally planned an ALL-DAY first date that involved ferries and hiking and beaches and picnics. The first thing Sarah said to Shane after saying hi was, “Will you put on your mask?” and the first thing that Shane said to Sarah was, “You’re even prettier in person.” (Awe…Keeper!)
It was the best first date they had both ever had. They stumbled on blackberries and watched the sunset over the water.  One year later Shane proposed in the exact same spot.
They got married on summer solstice and left the next day for a quick getaway to a vegan inn on the California coast. Shane now eats mostly vegan and they have blackberries to celebrate all their special occasions.  True love!
